Maura Vázquez, mother of Doraiky Águila Vázquez, clarified this Sunday the information circulated by the Facebook page SuenaCuba, which claimed that her daughter had been found in El Vedado, Havana.

"It hasn't appeared," the mother declared in a chat message that was made public.

SuenaCuba reported that Doraiky had been seen on 20th Street in Vedado, between 15th and 17th, on the first floor of a building with a barred entrance and a red car outside, and that the family had been notified to confirm his identity. The post quickly went viral on social media.

However, Maura Vázquez went to the place and conducted a thorough search without finding her daughter.

It was also not possible to contact the person who originally provided the information to SuenaCuba.

"We are searching for her intensively; anyone who knows where she is should call us. The person who said this does not know the source of origin. She has not appeared," Maura wrote in the message that was captured and shared by José E. González Marín, who is coordinating the dissemination of the case on social media.

González Marín posted an official update on Facebook to eliminate confusion: "We urge everyone to act responsibly: do not spread unverified rumors. A family's pain is at stake."

The user Lara LP also went to clarify the information: "The information circulating on social media about Doralkys is not true, she has not shown up." She also attached a message from a friend of Doraiky's husband confirming: "I just spoke with the husband and there is still nothing certain about that, I wish it were true."

This is not the first episode of misinformation surrounding the case. In October 2025, a rumor claimed that Doraiky had been found dead, which was immediately refuted by the family member Damnielle Días Fernández.

Doraiky, 48 years old, originally from the Lawton neighborhood, Diez de Octubre municipality, disappeared on March 15, 2025 during a citywide blackout in Havana.

She was last seen on 10 de Octubre Avenue, wearing a long yellow dress with red flowers and black sandals. She suffers from transient memory loss, a condition that increases her vulnerability.

Since then, Maura Vázquez —a retired nurse with 43 years of experience— has led an unwavering search.

In November 2025, she traveled to the National Sanctuary of San Lázaro in El Rincón with her daughter's photo pinned to her chest, in search of faith and hope.

In July 2025, the family offered a reward of 350,000 Cuban pesos for reliable information about Doraiky's whereabouts.

The complaint was filed with the Revolutionary National Police under the registration number 19434.

Cuban authorities have not issued official statements or reported progress in the investigation for over 13 months, something the family has publicly criticized since the beginning of the case.

"Daughter of my heart, we are searching for you and we will find you... your family and an entire community are looking for you," wrote Maura Vázquez on Facebook in December 2025, in a plea that summarizes more than a year of anguish without answers.
