The Cuban reggaeton artist Velito El Bufón announced yesterday the purchase of a new house in Cuba through a reel posted on his Instagram account, in which he also promotes the company SUNCAR as responsible for the electrical installation using solar panels.

"I just bought my new house, and this company is in charge of the electricity regarding solar panels. I really highly recommend them," the artist stated in the video.

On April 21, Velito had already showcased the interior of the house on Instagram with modern finishes — white marble flooring with gray veins, dark gray sofas, a glass table, and a chandelier — and expressed gratitude for the acquisition with the message: "Thanks to Eleguá and sacrifice, another property."

The decision to install solar panels in the home is not random: Cuba is experiencing, in 2026, one of the worst energy crises in its history, with deficits in electricity generation of between 50% and 60% and blackouts lasting up to 20-25 hours daily impacting a large part of the country.

In light of this reality, an increasing number of Cubans are turning to solar energy as an alternative to ensure electricity in their homes, a trend that has also prompted the government to announce the installation of 15,000 photovoltaic solar systems on the island.

SUNCAR SRL, the company that Velito recommends in the video, operates from the Playa neighborhood in Havana and specializes in the sale and installation of solar systems for homes and businesses.

The announcement of the new property comes at a time of intense personal activity for the artist, whose real name is Dariel Gutiérrez Pérez.

In February, just five days after the birth of his second son Thiago, Velito departed for a tour in Europe, which triggered the public breakup with Thalía, the mother of his two children.

On February 20, Thalía announced her separation with a message on her Instagram stories: "Velito and I ended things a few months ago. He decided to live his life, and I decided to live mine."

Weeks later, on April 13 —Thalía's 21st birthday—, Velito made his new relationship with Paula Martínez official, a Spanish cabin crew member, which further fueled the controversy on social media.

With over 700,000 followers on Instagram and songs like "My Neighborhood" —alongside Alexander Abreu, which has garnered more than 21 million views on YouTube—, Velito has established himself as one of the most popular artists in the Cuban scene today, and every move he makes sparks discussion both on and off the island.

In the reel's description, the singer invites his followers to visit the SUNCAR website to learn about prices and available kits: "If you want to have your own energy at home, visit the SUNCAR website at the following link suncarsrl.com to see their prices and available kits, or leave your comment and they will respond to you privately."
