El Chulo surprised his followers by posting on his Instagram stories a statement announcing the cancellation of several scheduled concerts, citing issues with his passport and immigration paperwork that prevent him from traveling internationally as usual.

The message, addressed directly to his fans, was brief but filled with emotion. "To all my supporters and to those who were looking forward to sharing this tour with me, I want to express my sincerest apologies. Due to issues related to my passport and immigration procedures, unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the scheduled concerts," the artist wrote.

The Cuban reggaeton artist did not hide the impact this situation has on him. “This news deeply saddens me, as I was really looking forward to meeting with you and thanking you in person for all the love and support you give me every day. Your support means a lot to me, and I will never cease to value the time, emotion, and effort you put into accompanying my music and my career,” he added.

The statement concluded with a promise of reunion: "I sincerely hope we can meet again very soon and make it up to you with unforgettable moments. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and for continuing to walk with me in this dream. With respect and gratitude always."

The announcement comes at a particularly delicate time for the artist, who is going through a new stage in life outside of the United States. El Chulo was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on January 22, 2026 at his residence in Homestead, Florida, in compliance with a deportation order pending since 2018.

After weeks held at the Florida Soft Side South center, known as "Alligator Alcatraz," the artist reported poor conditions inside the center: a lack of medication, showers only twice a week, and lights on all night.

To avoid forced deportation to Cuba, El Chulo signed a voluntary departure to Mexico in early March 2026. From there, he reappeared with a defiant message: "What they did to me was a favor."

His lawyer, José Guerrero, described the possibility of the artist returning to the United States as "very difficult," and issues with his international documentation are now the direct obstacle preventing him from fulfilling his tour commitments.

From Mexico, El Chulo has been working to rebuild his career. On May 7, he released “God Did It,” a Christian-themed song that marked a spiritual turn in his music and received mostly positive reactions from his followers.

Despite being unable to be on stage, El Chulo maintains an active connection with his audience through social media and continues to invest in his music as a means of expression and reconnection with those who support him during this difficult time.
