Jennifer Lopez experienced one of those moments that any mother can perfectly understand: watching a child graduate and realizing that they are ready to embark on their own path.

The artist could not hold back her tears during her son Max's (Maximilian David Muñiz) graduation ceremony, held on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), as shown in images shared on social media.

The photographs capture JLo tightly embracing her son, resting her face on his shoulder, and giving him a loving kiss on the forehead. Later, while talking to a teacher during the event, she became emotional and was moved to tears again.

For the occasion, Jennifer wore a floral spring-style dress paired with beige sneakers, a sky-blue sweater, and a matching handbag. Max chose a more casual look, featuring khaki pants and a t-shirt in shades of blue, white, and orange.

The celebration brought together several family members, including her twin sister Emme —also known as Oskar—, maternal grandparents Guadalupe and David López, and the singer's representative, Benny Medina.

The absence of Marc Anthony, the father of the twins, did not go unnoticed among the family's followers. The salsa singer was also not present days earlier at Emme's graduation and did not make any public comments about either celebration.

However, all the attention was focused on Jennifer and the excitement she has shown in recent weeks when talking about this new family stage.

In early June, during an interview on CBS Mornings, she confessed that she had been processing the idea for months that her children were about to leave home to start their university lives.

"When I realized it, I started to have many very emotional moments with them," he then acknowledged.

A little earlier, she had also mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel's show that she had been crying for weeks every time she thought about the subject. Nevertheless, she emphasized that the most important thing for her is to see her children happy and pursuing their dreams.

Max and Emme, born on February 22, 2008, turned 18 this year and are both closing a very important chapter in their lives. Emme has already graduated from high school and will begin studying theater and visual arts at Sarah Lawrence College, while Max will pursue a different college path.

The graduation pictures have resonated with thousands of followers because they reveal a very personal side of Jennifer Lopez: that of a proud mother celebrating her children's achievements, even if it also means acknowledging that they are growing up.

All of this is happening while the artist continues to promote her new romantic comedy on Netflix, Office Romance, which premiered on the very same day as Max's graduation.
