Ezequiel Martínez Ricardo, the 21-year-old reported missing in Holguín since Saturday, June 28, was found this Thursday and is now reunited with his family in perfect health, as confirmed by the regime's spokesperson profile "Realidades desde Holguín."

The news came through the accounts of Elizabeth García Martínez and Arlettys Oro, Ezequiel's sister who had made the initial alert, and whose call mobilized hundreds of people in the eastern province.

"For the Glory and Honor of God, Ezequiel Martínez Ricardo was found ALIVE, thanks to the thousands of people who joined this cause and contributed their part to make his discovery possible, God bless you all," Oro said on his Facebook profile.

Ezequiel had left his home in the 26 de Julio neighborhood, Holguín municipality, to carry out his usual sales activities and never returned.

For five days, his family and neighbors searched for him on foot and by bicycle through hills and wooded areas, including the area known as Isla Torre, the forest, and the community of Hilda Torres.

Arlettys Oro had posted a video on Facebook that gained over 17,000 views and nearly 300 comments, turning social media into the primary search engine in the absence of accessible state mechanisms.

The sister had also requested that institutions with security cameras review the footage from Saturday morning, focusing on the La Estuna and Mayarí roads, as well as the outer road of Holguín, and had confirmed that both the police and hospitals were active in the case.

The happy ending contrasts with other cases that remain unresolved in the same province.

In November 2025, 19-year-old recruit Dannier Quesada Morales disappeared while heading to his military unit in Aguas Claras.

Shortly after, in January 2026, a 35-year-old man with schizophrenia had been missing for almost a month in Holguín without an effective response from the authorities.

Meanwhile, in December 2025, two missing 16-year-old girls from Moa were found safe and sound after a similar community search.

The pattern is the same in all these cases: families turning to Facebook due to the lack of an official early warning system equivalent to the Amber Alert, which does not exist in Cuba.

"Without a doubt, excellent news," summarized the profile "Realidades desde Holguín" upon announcing Ezequiel's return to his family.
