The Cuban influencer Robert Evangelista denounced on his social media the scarcity, blackouts, and shortages that the people of Cuba are experiencing, accusing the regime of being unable to find a solution to the crisis in the country.
«It’s an abuse what they have against the people! But if there's one thing that’s clear, it’s that they are a mediocre, inept government, incapable in all areas, because none of those who tell you 'resist' know what it’s like to be without electricity for even 4 hours,» wrote on Facebook, the influencer.
Evangelista emphasized that the majority of the population "does not have $5,200 to buy solar panels, nor do they have money for an EcoFlow, nor do they have the means to buy daily food."
His complaint points directly to the government's lack of responses to move the country forward: "They haven't sought a disgusting solution. They have accustomed us to envy the neighbor next door as if that were the problem. They are killing an entire country! THEY ARE KILLING THE PEOPLE OF CUBA!" he expressed.
Her post has garnered nearly 7,000 likes and hundreds of supportive comments. It adds to a wave of critical voices that, from inside and outside the island, have turned social media into the primary platform for denouncing the regime's official media.
A crisis that shows no mercy
In 2026, Cuba is experiencing one of its worst crises in decades: blackouts lasting for hours, severe shortages of food and medicine, a collapse of transportation, and unprecedented mass emigration.
In that context, Cuban content creators have taken on a role that state media refuse to fulfill: documenting the reality of the people.
The influencer Lino García, known as "The Cuban Creator," walked through the streets of Havana in April and gathered testimonies from people who stated frankly: "we are starving".
