Roldán González, co-founder of Orishas, posted an emotional message on Instagram this Wednesday addressed to Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz, thanking him for welcoming him into his home during a meeting that the Cuban artist himself described as a moment he never imagined he would experience.
"Ale, thank you, brother, for opening the doors of your home to this country boy, who never thought he would be able to sit here with you, share, and feel so much affection," wrote Roldán on his Instagram account, alongside a photograph taken by the photographer Basilio Silva in which both artists are seen sitting on a white sofa, with UNO game cards on the coffee table.
In his message, Roldán also highlighted the affection that Sanz holds for his bandmate Yotuel and for Silva himself, and concluded with a phrase that encapsulates the spirit of the meeting: "It's nice to feel that a piece of our Cuba lives in you. You were also born Orishas."
"I feel very honored, brother," added the Cuban artist at the end of the post.
The meeting at Sanz's house is not the first public indication of this rapprochement. On September 10, just a week earlier, Yotuel had published another photograph alongside Roldán and the Spanish singer, which sparked rumors of a possible musical collaboration among the three artists.
On that occasion, Yotuel wrote: "Being able to count on you, to share this journey, and to know that our music connects in this way still feels like a dream to me."
The phrase "our music meets" was interpreted by many followers as a concrete hint, although there is still no official confirmation of any joint project.
The connection between Alejandro Sanz and the Cuban world has deep roots. Yotuel performed "Patria y Vida" —the protest anthem that won the Latin Grammy for Song of the Year in 2021— at Sanz's concerts in Tenerife in July 2022 and in Miami in September 2023.
The Spanish artist has also publicly supported causes related to the island. In June 2025, he expressed support for Cuban youth protesting against ETECSA's rates, and in February 2026, he echoed the repression against the youth project El 4tico.
Roldán and Yotuel, for their part, reconciled in March 2025 after years of estrangement and revitalized Orishas, with whom they are currently on an international tour "Represent Cuba 2026," with dates in Latin America, Europe, and the United States.
Roldán's post is the second publication in less than a week documenting this meeting at Sanz's residence, further reinforcing the personal and artistic bonds among the three. Yotuel summed it up clearly in his message on September 10th: "Thank you for what you are, for your music, for your legacy, but above all for what you mean to my Cuba and to so many Cubans who carry you in their hearts. Cuba loves you."
