The Cuban actress and singer Yory Gómez dedicated an emotional message on Facebook this Tuesday to her husband, the musician Osamu Menéndez, who is celebrating his birthday amid the mourning for the death of their eldest son Mauro, who passed away less than three months ago.

"Perhaps this is your hardest birthday, Osi," Yory wrote in the , where he reminisced about the 18 years they have spent together as a couple and the way they have always celebrated their birthdays.

"In these 18 years together, every birthday of yours and mine, we give each other everything, we surprise one another, we indulge each other, we take pleasure in everything, but for you, the most important thing has always been that call that made your eyes shine," the actress added, seemingly referencing the call she received from Mauro.

Yory, who is the stepmother of the young man who passed away, closed the message with words of hope and love: "I hope that time heals us and helps us live with this absence. May God grant you health and life today, tomorrow, and always. Because we will take care of everything else together, my love."

Mauro Menéndez, the son Osamu had with the Cuban actress and presenter Aylín Mujica, passed away on July 16, 2026, in Barbados at the age of 30, after suffering a collapse while at the beach.

The autopsy, revealed by Aylín Mujica in September, determined that the cause was pneumonia which triggered severe complications, including a pulmonary clot and multiple organ failure, according to Infobae.

Osamu himself publicly stated that his son's use of an electronic cigarette may have worsened the pneumonia that led to his death.

Yory had already spoken about the pain the family was going through at the end of July, when she broke the silence in a video to thank everyone for their support and to ask for understanding for her husband, noting that Osamu "was not ready" to speak publicly about the loss.

This birthday of Osamu Menéndez is the first he celebrates without his oldest son, making the date a moment filled with grief for the entire family, including Aylín Mujica, who stated in July that her "heart is devastated" after the death of Mauro.

Yory and Osamu, who got married in 2008 and reside in Miami, have a son together named Oliver, to whom the actress also dedicated a heartfelt message in July, wondering how to explain to him that Mauro would not return.
