The cultural promoter Yunielkis Naranjo Guerra, former president of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Camagüey, reported the theft of a motorcycle that occurred on Saturday night and questioned why, two days later, the police had still not determined which unit should investigate the case, despite having images of the suspect captured by security cameras.

“A decision has not yet been made at the 1st Police Unit regarding who will handle the case and whether it pertains to the 1st or 2nd Unit. Today, Monday, no one is attending to us,” Naranjo Guerra reported on Facebook.

The motorcycle belongs to Carlos, the director of the Provincial Unit of Specialized Work (UPTE) for the sociocultural project "Golpe a Golpe," who had come to pick up Naranjo Guerra to attend an event celebrating the 40th anniversary of the AHS.

The robbery occurred around 8:52 PM in front of the building where the cultural promoter resides, in the center of Camagüey.

According to the explanation, the surveillance cameras captured an individual dressed in black who took the motorcycle, a blue 125 cc Viking, that was parked on the public road.

After the incident, Naranjo Guerra shared images of the suspect on social media to request public assistance and aid in the recovery of the vehicle.

This Monday, it was stated that the authorities had not yet formally taken on the investigation.

"We have photos, videos, and addresses of two suspects, one on probation and another who fits the description," he stated. Despite the information gathered by the victims, Naranjo Guerra lamented that they continued to receive no concrete response from the police. "We are still in the anguish of the report," he expressed.

The case adds to other motorcycle thefts reported recently in Camagüey. In early October, a young man suffered a fractured arm after a man threw a stone at him to steal his motorcycle.

In September, another resident reported that an individual posed as a buyer and escaped with his motorcycle after pretending to negotiate.

In the case reported by Naranjo Guerra, as of his latest publication this Monday, there had been no information regarding the recovery of the vehicle or the arrest of any suspect.
