The President of the United States, Donald Trump, surprised everyone this Sunday with a bold remark about the body of rapper Nicki Minaj during a Republican rally in Michigan, where the artist was among the attendees and ended up standing up in front of the audience after the president pointed her out from the stage.

The episode occurred during a campaign event held on October 25 in Port Huron, Michigan, and was reported by Newsweek, which documented how Trump briefly deviated from his electoral speech to make an explicit reference to the physical attributes of the singer.

“By the way, I just saw an incredibly beautiful backside: Nicki Minaj’s! It’s hard not to notice it! Get up! It’s hard not to notice it!”, the president stated before the attendees.

The scene was captured in a video shared by Fox News, in which Trump can be seen addressing Minaj while the audience reacts to his words.

The rapper, who had traveled with the president to Michigan aboard the presidential plane Air Force One, stood up from her seat and greeted the attendees amid applause.

After the comment, Trump added a phrase directed at the artist before continuing with his speech.

“I hope Nicki didn’t feel offended, but we love Nicki. She has been with us for a long time,” he stated.

The moment occurred when the president recalled previous comments about Republican Senator Jon Husted from Ohio, whom he had praised for his physical condition after learning details of his background as a college football player.

Trump explained that he had observed the senator's physique after hearing comments about his athletic performance and joked about the difference between checking out a man's body and a woman's.

"I had never done that with a man. Unofficially, yes with women; with men, no," she said, before turning her attention to Minaj.

The exchange took place during a rally aimed at supporting Republican candidates from Michigan in anticipation of the midterm elections on November 3.

The images began to circulate on social media and generated reactions from Trump supporters as well as from people critical of his statements.

The conservative commentator Eric Daugherty celebrated the moment and highlighted the president's spontaneous style, while fellow commentator Nick Sortor acknowledged that he did not expect to hear that remark, despite Minaj's presence in the audience.

In contrast, Ron Filipkowski, a frequent critic of Trump and editor of MeidasTouch, sarcastically commented on the fact that the president ended up comparing the physical attributes of Senator Jon Husted and the singer during a political event.

Minaj's participation in Michigan was not limited to this exchange. The artist also addressed the attendees to publicly express her support for Trump and urge support for the state's Republican candidates.

“I feel very honored to work with this president”, declared the singer, who praised the president's resilience and stated that he had changed the political climate in the United States.

Minaj asked those present to support Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers and Michigan gubernatorial candidate John James, whose names she chanted alongside the audience.

“We need all these great individuals to be elected because this is a decisive moment for our country,” he stated during his participation.

The singer also addressed medical treatments for gender affirmation for minors and expressed her rejection of certain interventions, urging adults to leave children alone.

At the end of his speech, he reiterated his personal support for the leader: “It is an honor to stand by your side each time. And I will always continue to support you. If you run again, I will support you once more.”

Hours before the rally, Minaj accompanied Trump on his trip to Michigan. On board Air Force One, the artist spoke with the White House Communications Director, Steven Cheung, about the president's management, her business experience, and the reasons for her political support.

Cheung shared the video of the conversation on X and accompanied it with a joke about the possibility of Minaj taking a position in the administration.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have found the new press secretary of the White House!”, he wrote.

The publication did not constitute an official announcement regarding an appointment.

The political closeness between Trump and Minaj has become increasingly visible during 2026. In September, the rapper publicly declared her affection for the president and stated that she would not apologize for supporting him, despite the criticism received from some followers.

During an interview granted at that time to Fox News, she stated that she felt a connection with the President's personality and appreciated the way he treated people.

“I simply love him, and I will never apologize for that,” he stated on that occasion.

Months earlier, in January, Minaj had introduced herself as Donald Trump's "number one fan" during an event in Washington, where she displayed a Trump Gold Card associated with the immigration program promoted by his administration.

The artist, born in Trinidad and Tobago, stated that she was finalizing the paperwork to obtain U.S. citizenship and that the criticisms of her closeness to the president would not make her change her mind.

His current support contrasts with the criticisms he made in 2018 against the policy of separating migrant families during the first Trump administration, when he recalled his own experience of arriving in the United States as a child.
