Note

A simple and practical recipe to enjoy homemade pizza with basic ingredients. If you want to make it Cubana, leave the dough thicker when you knead it.

Ingredients

For the dough:

400 g of wheat flour

200 ml of warm water

15 g of fresh yeast (or 7 g of dry yeast) Do not use royal yeast; it is only for cakes or pastries.

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 pinch of salt

Extra flour for the countertop

For the cover:

Tomato puree

Grated cheese that melts

Ingredients to taste: ham, chorizo, pineapple, bell peppers, olives, mushrooms, etc.

Instructions

Dough Preparation:

Step 1: Mix the ingredients

In a large bowl, mix the warm water, olive oil, and yeast. Stir well until the yeast is completely dissolved.

Add the flour and a pinch of salt gradually, mixing with a spoon or your hands until a smooth dough forms.

Step 2: Knead the dough

Sprinkle a little flour on the countertop to prevent the dough from sticking.

Turn the dough out onto the surface and knead it for 3-4 minutes. Work the dough with the palms of your hands until it is smooth, elastic, and not too sticky (if needed, add a little more flour).

Step 3: Let the dough rest

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rest for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

Shaping the Pizzas:

Once the dough has rested, divide it into two parts to make two large pizzas.

Flour the countertop and use a rolling pin or your hands to stretch each portion into a circle or rectangle, as you prefer.

Assemble the Pizza:

Place the stretched dough on a tray or pizza stone.

Spread a layer of tomato puree over the surface.

Add grated cheese and any ingredients you prefer: ham, chorizo, pineapple, peppers, olives, etc.

Cooking:

Preheat the oven to 220-250 °C with heat from both the top and bottom.

Bake the pizza in the center of the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges are golden.

If you prefer a more toasted base, move the tray to the bottom of the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Tips:

If you are using dry yeast, activate it first in warm water with a pinch of sugar and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before mixing it with the flour.

Customize the ingredients to your liking. It's your pizza!

Enjoy a delicious homemade pizza that's easy to prepare!
