A group ofPeople beat a bicycle thief in Camagüey and prevented him from taking it from them to its owner.

The incident happened on Friday morning, and thanks to the quick and brave action of witnesses who happened to be at the scene, the criminal was able to prevent him from getting away with it.

As reported inFacebook the Cuban journalist and professor José Luis Tan Estrada, aman tried to steal a Post Office employee's bicycle in broad daylight which is near the Workers' Plaza.

"He wrestled the bicycle away from a Post Office worker.A person kicked him and someone in line at the bank knocked him out with a trumpet."he said.

According to sources who witnessed the incident, the thief was bloody and covered his face the entire time on the ground.

"One more example that people have to do for themselves what the police should do," said the author of the post.

In recent months, a wave of violence has been uncovered in Camagüey that has left victims and a feeling of insecurity in the population.

Last week,Killers ended the life of a 41-year-old man to steal his electric tricycle.

The victim, identified as Yudel López Álvarez, was intercepted when leaving his workplace by two men who stabbed him, dismembered him and threw his remains into a river in a bag with heavy objects.

Thanks to a complaint published by the family on social networks, the authorities were able to find the perpetrators of the crime.

Days ago, residents in the territoryThey warned of the increase in thefts of electric motorcycles.

"Be very careful with unscrupulous beings who, instead of doing good for society, are dedicating themselves to assaulting people on motorbikes. It doesn't even matter what time it is, it may be early morning or it's barely dark," warned Internet user Dory Pérez in the Facebook group "BUS & TRUCK ACCIDENTS, for more experience and fewer victims!".
