A Cuban and his wife died this Saturday after being shot in a shooting that took place at their residence in southwest Miami-Dade, according to reports from the authorities.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) identified the deceased on Sunday as Ulises Cabrera González, aged 44, and Susana Rosales Koris, aged 42.

According to official information, after 1 PM on Saturday, officers responded to the area of Southwest 170 Terrace and SW 153rd Court after receiving a report about a man who was bleeding. In a house on block 17000, they found Cabrera González and Rosales Koris with gunshot wounds, reported Telemundo 51.

Samantha Choon, spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Police, told the press that personnel from the county's Fire and Rescue Department arrived at the scene and pronounced both of them dead.

At the time of the shooting, there were other people in the residence, but authorities have not disclosed who they were or what their relationship was to the victims. They have also not revealed details about the circumstances surrounding the tragic event or any potential suspects.

The police do not rule out that it could be a case of domestic violence, although the investigation is still in its early stages to confirm this, reported Telemundo 51.

Cabrera González was originally from Havana, while his wife hailed from Guatemala; they had been married since 2013 and had two children, a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, according to public information on their social media.

The couple resided on the property, which has been in their name since 2020, according to information from the county property appraiser's website consulted by the television station.

Residents of the area expressed their dismay at the incident and stated that the neighborhood is peaceful and "nothing like this has ever happened before."

The investigation into the shooting, conducted by the MDSO, remains ongoing.
