A group of 50 Cuban migrants and Hondurans took over the facilities of the Paso del Norte International Bridge this morning to demand that their application process for political asylum in the United States be expedited.

The border bridge closed its doors after the demonstration of migrants who demanded that the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) mobilize the waiting time for interviews, reported Notimex.

CBP authorities placed containment fences before the avalanche of migrants around 2 a.m. to prevent them from entering US territory.

Around 2 in the afternoon, the migrants still remained on the Mexican side of the bridge, controlled by the National Guard and the Federal Police, who had not been able to get the foreigners to leave.

At the Puerta de las Americas International Bridge, just a few days ago, a Cuban screamed for help when US immigration agents immobilized him and tried to return him to the Mexican side. The Cuban had tried to enter US soil by force.

Only in Ciudad Juárez, the town where the Paso del Norte International Bridge that crosses the Rio Grande is located, are thousands of Cubans waiting for an interview for political asylum in the United States who report daily how they suffer. the violence of this area of Mexico and the inhumane conditions they endure in migrant shelters.

This June A Cuban crossed the dangerous border Rio Bravo with a Central American girl in his arms, desperate, after waiting for four months for his procedure in Ciudad Juárez.
