Cuban migrant found dead on Mexico highway identified

A group of passersby who were passing through the area found the lifeless body and notified the police.

The authorities of Mexico confirmed the identity of a Cuban migrant who was found dead on the Cuacnopalan-Oaxaca highway.

The woman found dead, was identified as Virgin Mary T. M., a 62-year-old migrant originally from Cuba.

The discovery occurred at approximately 1:45 am on Saturday, at kilometer 174 of the aforementioned highway. This place has witnessed the anguishing passage of those who seek to achieve border of Mexico with the United States.

The information provided by Mexican authorities and local media indicates that it was a group of passers-by who were walking through this area who noticed the presence of the body and alerted the police.

The law enforcement forces, including the State and Municipal Police, as well as the National Guard Highway Division, appeared at the scene and, after verifying that the woman did not present vital signs, they notified the State Investigation Agency (AEI) and the the Asunción Nochixtlán Prosecutor's Office.

When dying, Virgin Mary T. M. He was wearing a red t-shirt and black sports pants with white stripes. She was barefoot, which could suggest some type of difficulty or incident prior to her death.

A card was found among his clothes that allowed the identification of the body, then the procedures began to remove the body and transport it to the municipal pantheon of Asunción Nochixtlán.

The autopsy carried out provided conclusive data on the cause of death which, according to the authorities, was due to bronchoaspiration.

This outcome raises questions about the circumstances surrounding the last stage of this woman's life. Cuban migrant and his death, but at the moment no details have been released about it.

This sad event highlights the continued struggle and extreme risk that Cuban migrants face in their efforts to escape the repression and misery left by the communist regime on the island.
