A young Cuban, father of a girl, was murdered this Friday night in Las Tunas, allegedly after a fight with a man who had gotten in over his head with his girlfriend.
The deceased, calledBrian Anthony Camel Rodriguez He was the son of a karate coach in that eastern province, named Carlos Camejo Alonso.
“A news that has destroyed all of us who saw him born and grow up, a child full of life,” said Facebook user Yanira Crespo, apparently close to the family.
Another user, Ermelinda Ojeda and presumably the victim's sister, accompanied a post with a photo of the murdered young man and specified in the comments section that he had been stabbed in the heart by a 40-year-old man who had messed with his girlfriend.
“How long, Lord, have mercy on young people, how much violence, how much pain”, “This has to stop somehow, what pain, so young they leave the house and do not return”, “How long… will parents have to be suffering the loss of our children who no longer have security,” were some of the comments that were read in the publication.
The wave of violence and murder that Cuba is experiencing, combined with the critical economic situation, keeps a society on alert that cannot find protection for so many deaths and shortages.
