Movement in exchange rates of foreign currencies in the black market in Cuba: Here's how the dollar, euro, and MLC are today.

This day begins with a slight movement in the exchange rates of currencies in the black market in Cuba.

On this Monday, the exchange rates of currencies in the informal market in Cuba show a slight movement, with a price drop in one of the three most traded currencies in the country.

It is about the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) which this Monday is being traded at 273 CUP, meaning it is two pesos less than on the previous day.

The movement is slight, but it breaks the stability that the informal foreign exchange market in Cuba had maintained for more than a month.

The US dollar (USD) continues to be traded at 320 CUP, and the European currency (EUR) remains at 330 CUP, making it the most valuable currency on the island for several weeks now.

Since early August, the exchange rates for the dollar and the euro have remained stable at 320 CUP and 330 CUP, respectively, according to market monitoring by elTOQUE.

The Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) was the last to record changes, being set at 275 CUP since August 9. This recent stability contrasts with the significant fluctuations of the first seven months of 2024, marked by abrupt rises and falls in currency prices.
