The three reference currencies had been stable in the informal exchange market for more than four weeks.

For the second consecutive day, the price of one of the three reference currencies in the Cuban informal market shows a slight change.

The Freely Convertible Currency regained the two pesos it lost the previous day this Tuesday and returned to 275 CUP, a value it had consecutively held since August 9 before this slight pause.

Regarding dollars and euros, they remain unchanged today: the US dollar is still priced at 320 CUP and the euro at 330 CUP.

The unusual stability of currency prices in the informal market over the past four weeks has taken many Cubans by surprise, who are trying to find an explanation behind the phenomenon, which has not yet been addressed by elToque.

Exchange rate of the dollar USD to CUP according to elTOQUE: 320 CUP.

Exchange rate of the euro EUR to CUP according to elTOQUE: 330 CUP.

MLC to CUP exchange rate according to TOQUE: 275 CUP.

The median values for buying and selling published this Tuesday by the aforementioned independent media confirm that the average sale of the three currencies remains at 275 (MLC); 330 (euros), and 320 (dollars).

In the case of the acquisition of currencies, the only change is that the average purchase price of the dollar decreases today to 318 pesos.

The US dollar reached 320 CUP on August 3, and since then, monitoring of classified ads averaging its value in the black market has not shown any changes, according to elToque.

The European currency, for its part, reached 330 CUP on August 5 and since then its average selling price has also not changed.

The price stability in recent weeks contrasts with the strong changes during the first seven months of 2024, marked by fluctuating and abrupt spells of both price increases and decreases.
