Industriales players, two months without salary: Until when?

The story is not new and the complaints have been numerous, yet the money still does not reach the bank accounts, which has generated outrage among the athletes and their families.

The players of Industriales, the most emblematic team in Cuban baseball, have gone more than two months without receiving their salary, and the repeated promises of payment "soon" daily fall into a bottomless pit.

The story is not new and the complaints have not been lacking, but even so, the money does not reach the bank accounts, which has generated outrage among athletes and their families, who rely on these incomes for their daily sustenance, according to the complaint from the page Por La Goma on the social network Facebook.

Facebook Post/For The Goma

The post reports that the players have expressed their frustration. However, despite having called and asked persistently about their money, the response has always been the same: "they will be paid soon."

It is clear that that "soon" has stretched longer than bearable, leaving many in a difficult economic situation. Then some do not understand the causes of the massive exodus in national sports.

The executives of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation in the capital of the island, while they may not be the direct responsible parties for this situation, are the ones who have the duty to solve this problem. Or, at the very least, to apply pressure.

Athletes are required to adhere to strict regulations, but it seems that the same rigor is not applied when it comes to guaranteeing their salary rights.

The delay, which has already exceeded two months, violates the rights of the athletes and has caused an unsustainable situation, which could have regrettable sporting consequences in the future.

The lack of payment not only affects the members of Industriales, but also highlights the failures in the management and administration of sports in the largest of the Antilles.

Por La Goma reiterated the need to resolve this situation urgently and to avoid further delays in the future, so that the athletes can focus on what they do best: playing baseball and representing their team with dignity.
