A Cuban family with three children lost almost all their belongings in a devastating fire that broke out during the early hours of this Sunday in their home, in the city of Florida, Camagüey. Fortunately, all emerged unharmed from the incident, according to preliminary reports.

The fire occurred in one of the apartments on the top floor of building 2 in the Micro District, in the city of Camagüey, causing significant damage to the property, as well as destroying the belongings of the family, which consists of two adults and three minors, according to user Jennifer Páez in a Facebook post.

"This happened in the early morning in one of the apartments in Micro in Florida, Camagüey. There were three minors and two adults. Thank God nothing happened to them; the fire was caused by a liquefied gas bullet," it was reported.

Páez urged the community to help those affected: “Gentlemen, these people have lost everything, everything—clothes, all their appliances; any help is appreciated, please.”

A post in the Facebook group “Floridanos en Cuba,” cited by user Irma Broek, indicated that the fire allegedly started due to “a short circuit when the power was turned on and because of a faulty gas cylinder in the valve”.

That "combination caused the fire, which resulted in material damage and loss of household appliances, but there were no severe human injuries", he noted.

The report did not clarify whether anyone suffered minor injuries; however, one of the photos shows an ambulance at the scene. The fire was extinguished by the Florida fire department.

In one of the comments, Elam Recio revealed: "When my husband came back from the fire and stood in front of me, looking black as if he had just come out of an oven, I realized the extent of the fire. He told me that everything was burned a lot and that there were many damages to those people."

“Honestly, anyone who can help should do so,” the woman urged. “Now is the time to show solidarity. We cannot leave that family in this situation; anyone who can, please contribute in whatever way you can, no matter how small it may seem, it will be appreciated. Thank you to all the people who helped extinguish the fire and to the fire department of Florida.”
