Learn to make tasajo like in Cuba! A Cuban in Miami teaches the recipe

Aniadys Armas, a creator in Miami, shares her recipe for guajiro-style tasajo on Instagram, highlighting the cooking technique using an electric pot and serving it with rice and fried sweet potatoes.

The Cuban Aniadys Armas (@aaa_aniadys), who lives in Miami and is a well-known content creator, shared with her followers on Instagram the recipe for tasajo in the guajiro style, the most traditional way on the island.

Aniadys used two pieces of tasajo, which are sold in the United States coated in wax for better preservation. This coating is completely removed, the meat is cut into cubes, and it is washed thoroughly before cooking.

The Cuban woman cooked the tasajo in the electric pressure cooker for 45 minutes, took the meat out of the broth, and shredded it. Then she prepared a Cuban sofrito, and when it was ready, she added the shredded and tender tasajo so that the meat could absorb all the flavor.

"Remember not to add salt, because this is salty," he warned his fans. "This is going to turn out delicious. The day you learn to make tasajo, you’ll want to make it every day," he commented.

The presentation of the dish turned out very appetizing. He paired the tasajo with freshly made white rice, well-separated and with some fried sweet potatoes. It's a spectacular combination that is both guajira and Cuban.
