A daylight robbery was caught on video this Wednesday in the Playa municipality, in Havana, where an individual entered a home and stole several items without anyone being able to stop him.
The report was published on social media by Manuel Barrios, who shared images of the incident that took place around 6:45 p.m. at the intersection of 11 and 78, near the 13 park.

“Broad daylight robbery, that’s how things are, my people!” Barrios wrote in his post. According to his testimony, the thief moved through the area with ease and didn't mind that there were people in the house at the time of the robbery.
In the videos, a subject can be seen with their face partially covered by a shirt, loitering in front of the house before scaling a door or wall to enter. Later, they are observed exiting with a large box and another package, in which they allegedly transported a Vevor fan and a DeWalt drill.
Barrios stated that the individual headed down 11th Street towards the park and believes he must live nearby, so he requested help from the public to identify him. "Share this, tomorrow it could be you. We need to stop these thieves," he warned.
The case adds to a growing wave of complaints in the capital, where residents are reporting daylight burglaries of homes, motorcycles, and businesses, set against a backdrop of economic decline and a lack of police response.
Several recent events reflect the level of sophistication and audacity achieved by crime in Cuba, particularly in Havana, in an environment marked by economic crisis and institutional decline.
In a grocery store in the capital, a worker was violently beaten during a robbery, causing alarm in the community due to the brutality of the attack and the lack of prompt response from the authorities.
This incident is compounded by a theft inside a taxi transporting passengers from José Martí airport, where one of the travelers took possession of someone else's bag during the journey.
The method used demonstrates how criminals take advantage of transit and trust spaces to carry out their crimes without raising suspicion.
In Marianao, a transporter reported being a victim of a theft by deception. Two individuals, who pretended to be customers, led him to a supposed residence where they were to pick up goods, and taking advantage of his getting out of the vehicle, they seized his tricycle.
