Amid the uncertainty that often accompanies the loss of a wallet in Cuba, where people typically do not check their surroundings when they find money, an act of honesty has restored hope to a woman in Santiago de Cuba.

Zucel Sandy Mosqueda, a member of the Facebook group "La Gente del Salao," publicly expressed her gratitude to the person who returned her wallet containing all her documents and a substantial amount of money, with absolutely nothing missing.

"Hello, thank you very much to everyone who has supported me in one way or another with the loss of my documents. I would like to commend the person who returned my documents to me without missing anything from my wallet. Thank you very much," Mosqueda wrote on Sunday, accompanying his post with an image of the open wallet, where several identity cards and bills were visible.

Although the post does not specify who the person was that returned the wallet, the gesture sparked a wave of reactions and praise from the group members, who regarded the action as a rare act of integrity.

"There are still honest people, it's great that not everything is lost. Congratulations to you and especially to those who returned them," commented Margarita Pila.

"There are always honest people in this world, and such a beautiful gesture is repaid by God," wrote Maricel Rivera Royo.

"May God bless you and grant good health to all those who follow your example," added Teresa Ramón Alamaña.

"Congratulations! I wish the world were filled with people like these who still uphold principles and values. Surely life would be more pleasant," said Jessy Jurjo.

In a Cuba battered by economic crisis and shortages, these acts of civic decency stand out for their rarity and symbolic value.

The person who made the return, although remaining anonymous, has earned the respect and admiration of an entire community.

In the current landscape, where people seize any opportunity to make some money, gestures like these are almost the exception to the rule.

Months ago, two cadets from the Military Technical Institute (ITM), identified as Alejandro Cantillo Pérez and Yoerlandy Camero Baños, returned a lost backpack containing a substantial amount of money in foreign currency, personal documents, and a mobile phone.

The incident occurred this Saturday in the Playa municipality of Havana and was shared on Facebook by the official spokesperson Frank Enrique.

According to an account from a regime supporter, in an attempt to cleanse the image of repression, the young people were walking through the intersection of 110th Street and 5th Avenue when they noticed an abandoned backpack on the ground.

Upon reviewing its contents, they discovered it contained 4,000 Cuban pesos, 5,400 euros, 3,084 US dollars, a mobile phone, and an identity card.
