This type of episode fuels the debate about citizen security in Cuba, where many citizens feel increasingly vulnerable to the impunity of criminals.

This Saturday, it was reported that water tanks at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center (CMLK), primarily intended for impoverished families in eastern Cuba, were stolen amidst a backdrop of increasing impunity, while the police claim to be investigating.

The complaint was made by Yuliet Teresa Villares Parejo, communication coordinator of the CMLK, who alerted through her profile on Facebook about the theft of the containers, which are unique and property of the institution based in the municipality of Marianao, in Havana.

Also on Saturday, it was reported that a traffic accident that occurred last Wednesday on Calzada de Santo Suárez, in the municipality of Diez de Octubre, Havana, not only left a motorcycle rider injured after being struck by a trailer, but also revealed a scene of social outrage: a man took advantage of the emergency to steal the victim's belongings instead of helping her.

The user Ofun Meyi Tanke Cuba reported on Facebook that a man, who was apparently at the scene at the time of the incident, posed as a relative of the motorist and, under that pretense, stole documents and personal belongings from the victim. Among the stolen items were his identity card, driving license, and other important papers.
