President Donald Trump said this Sunday that the young conservative leader Charlie Kirk was killed "for speaking the truth that was in his heart."

At the funeral service that brought together 73,000 people at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona, the president concluded the speaker lineup of a funeral service that gathered the entire forefront of the MAGA movement.

"He was a missionary with a noble spirit and a great purpose. He didn’t hate his opponents. He wanted the best for them," Trump said, admitting he disagreed with the late man on that point: "That's where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent. And I don’t want the best for him."

Trump also stated that Kirk's killer was a "radicalized, cold-blooded monster."

Before Trump, Erika Kirk, the widow of the influencer, forgave the man who shot and killed her husband.

“I forgive them,” he said after quoting Jesus: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.”

The new CEO of Turning Point America said that her husband's mission was to save new generations "consumed by resentment, anger, and hatred."

The following also took the floor: Vice President J. D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr., National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, and Don Jr.

Before the gala, the United States Secret Service reported that an armed man was arrested at State Farm Stadium, prior to the memorial celebration.

This Saturday, Arizona authorities filed charges against the suspect, identified as Joshua Runkles, who entered the sports venue armed with a gun and a knife.

According to a spokesperson for the agency, the individual entered the stadium on Friday and exhibited "suspicious behavior."

Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA and host of the conservative podcast The Charlie Kirk Show, was killed on September 10 during a conference at Utah Valley University by Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old who was apprehended a few days later.

The murder of Kirk adds to a series of recent episodes of political violence in the United States, including the homicides of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, as well as the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York.

In the past year, Trump himself has also survived two assassination attempts during his electoral campaign.
