In Cuba, there is no fuel, but from early morning, thousands of people gathered at the Antimperialist Tribune "José Martí", facing the Havana seawall, to participate in an event called by the Communist Party in support of Palestine.

In the midst of a deep economic and energy crisis, with frequent blackouts and public transport disruptions in many areas of the country, the event featured a notable deployment of state resources.

Several residents of Havana reported on social media the use of school and work buses to transport attendees, while thousands of citizens daily lack transportation for their everyday activities.

At the event, more than 100 thousand people attended, according to the regime's data. It was presided over by the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, his wife Lis Cuesta, and the main political leaders of Cuba.

The official account of the Presidency of Cuba stated that at the event, “the unwavering support of the Party, the government, and the Cuban people for the Palestinian cause was reaffirmed.”

The authorities did not provide information about the logistical costs of the event, nor about the source of the fuel used, but the mobilization sparked criticism due to the contradiction between the massive show of official support and the paralysis the country is experiencing.

Many question the prioritization of an international political demonstration while the majority of Cubans face miserable wages, inflation, a collapse of transportation, and rationing of basic services.
