A young Spanish woman has caused a stir on TikTok after posting a video in which she confesses that she leaves everything behind to go to Cuba "without a return ticket". Her decision, shared on the profile @vivirdeliciosamente, has generated thousands of comments and an intense debate among curious onlookers, Cubans, and Spaniards.
“I don't even know how to say what I'm about to say, but I'm going to Cuba. I don't have a return date. I know I'm crazy. I don't know what awaits me,” says the creator, visibly nervous, in the video that has garnered thousands of views. The young woman explains that she has quit her job, bought a camera to document her experience, and that she wants to “enjoy everything, the good and the bad, and learn from it.”
However, what seemed like an inspiring adventure has sparked a wave of reactions. Many users pointed out the economic crisis, power outages, and food shortages that the island is facing, while others joked about her decision.
“Without a return flight, you can't leave Madrid if you're on a tourist visa,” wrote a user. “Cubans are desperate to leave Cuba, and she goes without a return ticket,” commented another. Some wished her luck, while others advised her to “bring toilet paper, insect repellent, and Fortasec.”
