The Cuban comedian and philanthropist Limay Blanco announced that he has raised $2,374 to help the young girl who was a victim of abuse in Holguín, a case that shook Cuba due to the cruelty of the images shared on social media. With his characteristic warm tone and signs of exhaustion, the comedian stated: “I haven’t been able to sleep at all, but thanks to not sleeping, look at all we've raised.”

In a video shared on their social media, Limay explained that the money will be used to buy a house for the young girl and her family. "We want to reach six thousand dollars, five thousand to try to buy a house... a house that faces the street, that has three bedrooms, that has a roof," he detailed while showing the amount raised. "With the other thousand, we’ll buy things for inside the house like a pressure cooker, a rice cooker, a bed, a refrigerator, a television, the girl’s clothes, those kinds of things."

The artist, leader of the Cristo Cambia Vidas (CCV) project, emphasized that the house will be in the girl's name. "This is for the little girl's house, nothing more. The house will be put in the girl's name," he clarified. He also mentioned that the money will be given to the child's father and that they plan to assist the siblings afterward.

"First one, then the other... God bless them. We're going to give that girl a wonderful surprise. When she opens her room and sees her bed, her dresser, we're going to change her life."

Visibly exhausted, the comedian asked for understanding from those trying to contact him: "I'm going to lie down to sleep for a bit. If you write to me and I don't respond, please be patient; as soon as I wake up, I'll reply. Don't cool off, okay? Don't cool off."

He also mentioned the shipping agency for those who wish to contribute with material donations from abroad.

The case of the girl victim of abuse in Holguín

The case came to light last weekend when a video went viral on social media showing a mother brutally beating her 10-year-old daughter, while a man—her partner and the child's stepfather—recorded the abuse and forced another child to pour cold water over the girl's head. According to initial reports about the case, it was mistakenly reported that the events took place in Ciego de Ávila, but it was later confirmed that the family resided in the province of Holguín.

After the video was released, authorities arrested the mother, Elizabeth González Díaz, and her partner, who are now in custody of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) for questioning. The video sparked a wave of nationwide outrage, with activists and citizens demanding justice and immediate protection for the minor.

In statements reported by media and activists, the activist Lara Crofts denounced that "this is not discipline, it is an intolerable crime," emphasizing the urgency of protecting children from abuse and institutional indifference.

Solidarity and faith

The new campaign launched by Limay Blanco adds to his numerous efforts to assist vulnerable families in Cuba. In previous days, the comedian had already announced the start of fundraising to support the minor and asked his followers to "pray for all the help to arrive in the name of Jesus."

Through his ministry Cristo Cambia Vidas, the comedian has provided dozens of homes and donated food, medicine, and household appliances to single mothers, the elderly, and sick children. “I’ve been doing this for almost six years now, and it feels good to do good. Help me to help,” he has expressed on several occasions.

In this opportunity, her goal is to buy a concrete house with three bedrooms in Havana, so that the girl from Holguín and her family can start a new life. With faith and hope, Limay assures that “in the name of Jesus, it will come.”
