The family of Yanella Suárez, a 43-year-old Cuban resident in Miami, has been facing the anguish of not knowing anything about her whereabouts for more than four months.

Since July 14, 2025, the date of their last communication, their trace has vanished.

The disappearance has sparked an intense mobilization from her family and the Cuban community in South Florida, who are pleading for help to find her.

Last contact: A message that went unanswered

According to Tereza Pérez, Yanella's mother, the last trace of her daughter was a morning message sent to her children on July 13, 2025.

The next day, they were unable to contact her again.

That same weekend, the family learned that their mobile phone and wallet, which also contained their personal documents, had been stolen.

Since then, the cell phone remained turned off until it was briefly powered on on September 2.

A young man answered the call and claimed that "a friend had given it to him," but he hung up immediately. He did not answer again.

The discovery of her wallet: A frustrating clue

On September 4th, a letter arrived at her children's home. It stated that Yanella's purse containing her documents had been found abandoned in the street, near an area where she often went to work, and had been delivered to a nearby address.

The family went there, but they were unable to find any further clues about their whereabouts.

A history of previous disappearances

This is not the first time Yanella has gone missing. According to journalist Niover Licea, known for his channel "Nio Reportando un Crimen," Yanella was already missing a year ago and was found thanks to the visibility of the case on social media and community outlets.

On this new occasion, her mother fears that the worst will happen again, given that her daughter suffers from mental disorders and requires specialized medical attention. The risk of decompensation is high if she does not receive treatment.

A delicate family context

Yanella's recent history sheds light on her vulnerability.

According to her mother’s testimony, she had been hospitalized for psychiatric care, but in October 2024, her father - Gustavo Suárez - decided to take her out of the hospital, claiming that "she did not have mental health issues." Since then, Yanella lived with him for a few months.

However, by the end of May 2025, he began to show visible signs of decompensation again.

On May 30, he left the house on his own, and although in the following weeks he still maintained daily contact with his children, the situation changed drastically in mid-July. On July 14, he stopped communicating entirely.

Last place she was seen

The family confirmed that the last time anyone saw Yanella was at the Madre Teresa Refuge, located at 724 NW 17 St, Miami, FL 33136.

They have gone to the place multiple times without getting any answers.

They also mention that she used to sit for long periods at the nearby bus stops, especially in areas like Allapattah, Jackson Memorial, Overtown, and part of Downtown Miami.
