The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported the arrest of two Cuban nationals deemed dangerous due to their criminal history.
In Michigan, Luis Pérez Rivalta, 49 years old, was arrested at the North Lake processing facility. According to ICE, the Cuban has convictions for domestic violence, driving under the influence, and methamphetamine trafficking.
In Georgia, Miguel Reynoso-Alfonso, who is also of Cuban origin, was arrested for cocaine smuggling. Both face deportation orders and remain in federal custody.
U.S. authorities have confirmed that operations continue to locate and deport immigrants with serious criminal records, including drug traffickers and sexual offenders.
ICE reiterated that its mission is to protect American communities from repeat offenders and to enforce the country's immigration laws.
