Police operations in neighborhoods of the city of Holguín resulted in the arrest of a man who was in possession of meat of "illicit origin" and two motorcycles that were allegedly stolen, along with the seizure of motorcycle accessories and other equipment.
The police profile on Facebook “Heroes in Blue in Cuba” reported this Tuesday that in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, a citizen was detained, and they seized 10 pounds of meat, a MZ motorcycle, and a UNICO GSX moped, “linked to a burglary.”
Police agents also raided a home in the Harlem neighborhood, where they found motorcycle accessories, a cut-off wheel engine, a motorcycle tank, and a grinding stone, hidden in a pit. According to the report, potential suspects are under investigation.
The profile did not identify the detainee nor provided further details about the operations.
These cases add to others presented by spokesperson profiles of the Cuban regime as evidence of effective policing. With triumphant zeal, the official media campaign on social networks seeks to exalt, at any cost, the performance of the police in suppressing crime.
Meanwhile, the rise in criminal activity continues in crescendo and keeps the population on edge, particularly due to the unstoppable increase in high-risk crimes such as murders, violent assaults, and drug trafficking, which are increasing social insecurity throughout the country.
