The incident was originally reported by the Red Cross of Yateras, which highlighted the quick response of its team and the coordination of the rescue efforts. The event once again underscored the commitment of emergency groups operating in rural communities of eastern Cuba.

The news was subsequently shared by CiberCuba Noticias on Facebook, where it sparked dozens of reactions and comments that blended solidarity, humor, and criticisms of the precarious state of public services in the area.

Among the most notable messages, several users expressed their support and wishes for a quick recovery for the injured, as well as recognizing the work of the rescuers. “Wishing a speedy recovery for the patient and excellent work by the Red Cross rescuers,” wrote one person. Another commented: “How wonderful, great job by the rescuers. May God bless and protect them always.”

Some internet users questioned the conditions of the health and transportation systems in Yateras. "Is there an ambulance in Yateras?" asked one user, while another sarcastically commented, "That's great, but where is the electricity?"

A debate also arose regarding the language used in the news when a reader commented, “I’m not an expert in Spanish, but I ask: is it correct to use the term ‘atropelló’ when referring to an ox?”. Others opted for the common humor typical of Cuban social media: “Was it a normal ox or one with two legs?” wrote one; another joked, “The ambulance came for the ox, thank goodness they attended to the person.”

Among the more serious messages, some users expressed concern about the lack of information regarding the identity of the affected individual and recalled the healthcare issues in remote areas. "I hope it's nothing serious; sometimes you die without receiving help," commented one person.

The incident reflected both citizen solidarity and the challenges that rural communities in Guantánamo face during medical emergencies. The intervention of the Red Cross in Yateras was seen as an example of commitment and effective response to an unexpected event.
