A traffic accident that occurred this Thursday on the central Trocha street in Santiago de Cuba left two young people injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a rental car.
Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada reported on his social media that the rental vehicle took the injured to Joaquín Castillo Duany Military Hospital, where they received immediate medical attention.
So far, the severity of the injuries and official details regarding the causes of the incident have not been clarified.
In images shared by the reporter, the wrecked motorcycle can be seen on the pavement, with a police officer inspecting the scene while other vehicles remain stopped.
Transit authorities have not yet issued an official report, but the incident has raised concerns among the people of Santiago regarding the increase in accidents in high-traffic areas of the city.
