The police arrested two men as the suspected perpetrators of a violent assault in a house in Boca de Camarioca, in Cárdenas, Matanzas, where they attacked the couple residing in the home, injuring both, one of them severely, according to official reports.
The Facebook profile “Con Todos La Victoria”, linked to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint), reported the recent incident and the capture of those responsible, identified as Diosmey de Jesús Hidalgo Rodríguez and Manuel Alexander Nimer Paz.
The note details that both individuals "with their faces covered, violently broke into the victims' home" and, "once inside, threatened and assaulted the resident couple, causing injuries to both, one of which is serious".
The assailants stole a significant amount of money: 135,000 CUP and 4,000 USD; the recording equipment from the security cameras, cell phones, gold jewelry, and several knives.
According to the publication, "the effective and prompt action of the police authorities" allowed for the immediate detention of the thieves in the Bellotex area of Matanzas, and "several of the stolen goods were recovered."
