The young filmmaker and visual artist David Williams, known on social media as @dreamofdeathz, is drawing the public's attention with his debut feature “INFRAMUNDO,” a deeply symbolic and emotional short film that premiered on September 21 on the YouTube channel of @k3ndaya.

Williams, who describes himself as a director, photographer, editor, colorist, and 3D artist, shared on Instagram that this work "is filled with symbols." It addresses themes such as innocence, frustration, poverty, lack of opportunities, and above all, the indomitable desire to achieve dreams.

The protagonists, Yancarlos and Viti, portrayed by Jonathan Domínguez and Yosmani Domínguez, live in a Cuba where dreaming becomes almost impossible.

"They are surrounded by frustrated, bitter, sad adults and a reality that is not described but is felt to be harsh and brutal," Williams explained in his post.

“This short film is a whisper to that child who lives within us. For my people, the caged island. A home that hurts, a ground we love, but that prevents us from flying. Frustration is palpable in the streets. Every glance hides the same desire: to escape. All hearts carry the same question: What hurts more? Staying and giving up on dreams, or leaving and renouncing the homeland?” wrote the filmmaker.

The short film, which has received a remarkable response on social media with thousands of "likes" and supportive comments, brings together a talented artistic and technical team:

  • Script: @gaby_bouzon and @dreamofdeathz
