Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy and a renowned environmental journalist, passed away this Tuesday at the age of 35, one month after revealing that she had terminal cancer. The news was confirmed by her family through a statement released by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.
"Our dear Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts," expressed the family in the message signed by George, Edwin, and Josephine Moran, Ed, Caroline, Jack, Rose, and Rory.
Schlossberg had publicly shared, at the end of November, that she was suffering from acute myeloid leukemia with an uncommon mutation. In an essay published in The New Yorker, she explained that she was diagnosed in May 2024, shortly after giving birth to her second child, when doctors found that she had an abnormally low white blood cell count.
In addition to being a member of the famous Kennedy clan, Tatiana distinguished herself through her work as an environmental journalist at The New York Times and as a contributor to outlets such as The Washington Post, where she rigorously and sensitively addressed issues related to climate change and the human impact on the environment.
Tatiana Schlossberg was the daughter of Caroline Kennedy, the current United States Ambassador to Australia, and Edwin Schlossberg. She leaves behind her husband and two young children.
