A recently arrived Cuban in Mexico had a funny moment while trying to use an escalator for the first time in a store.
The video, shared on TikTok, showcases her fear and the laughter of those accompanying her, quickly becoming a viral clip among social media users.
The scene, shared by user @roxanadanaymorale, shows the woman visibly nervous about the movement of the escalators.
"The problem is that I fell last time; it makes me dizzy. I'm going to go up the stairs... look at how she's going up, it makes me dizzy," says the Cuban as she tries to choose between laughter and hesitation.
Finally, with the help of her friend, she manages to get up the stairs, causing a wave of laughter among those watching the scene. The video, captioned “Stay until the end; it's the funniest part,” has garnered thousands of views and comments from users who could relate to the situation.
Many internet users, especially Cubans, pointed out the contrast between the technological limitations on the Island and everyday experiences upon arriving in other countries. “That happens to all of us when we leave Cuba,” commented one user with a laugh.
The clip was filmed in a department store in Mexico and humorously reflects the adaptation process of many Cubans who emigrate in search of a better life.
