Dariel Pérez Camue, a 14-year-old teenager, died electrocuted in the San Luis municipality, Santiago de Cuba, under circumstances that are still under investigation.

According to journalist Yosvany Mayeta Labrada, the event occurred on Thursday afternoon, between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., at a poultry shop known as El Hormiguero, located in the upper part of the town of Dos Caminos.

According to a source consulted by Mayeta Labrada, the young man was reportedly taken to the site by a cousin, who was aware that the area had electricity.

"Reports indicate that the minor was instructed to climb an electrical pole, provided with a tool, and that he was raised to reach it until a high voltage shock ended his life," the journalist recounts.

It also points out that, "although the place has been inactive for some time, it remains guarded, a key detail that raises more questions than answers today."

Mayeta assures that 3 or 4 people were with the minor and left him abandoned after his death, "leaving the body without immediate notification to the authorities, an act that has caused pain, anger, and outrage among family and neighbors."

These circumstances have not yet been officially confirmed and will need to be clarified by the investigation, Mayeta clarifies.

“Dariel lived in Morón de Palencia, an area that belongs to Songo La Maya. He was a beloved child who would turn 15 on the 27th. His father is beside himself, while the family and the community demand truth and justice,” he added.

The journalist believes that this tragedy raises a series of questions that must be addressed by the authorities: “How did a child gain access to a secured facility? Who allowed or facilitated exposure to a known risk? Was there negligence, exploitation, or cover-up? What responsibility do the adults involved and the guardians of the place have? Why is there still no clear official information?”
