The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, praised the leadership of Donald Trump during the presentation of the Peace Board, an initiative he described as “the beginning of a new era” in international politics.

"This is a group of leaders committed to action, and the President of the United States is a president of action, of results, and today marks the beginning of that, a new era and a new phase that will serve as a model for the rest of the world," Rubio stated during his remarks in Davos, where he joined Trump for the launch of the new organization.

According to a report by the Washington Post, the so-called Board of Peace was introduced by the White House as an international platform to resolve global conflicts, initially focused on the reconstruction of Gaza following the ceasefire.

However, the initiative has expanded to address disputes in other regions of the world and promote stability under a framework of direct cooperation with Washington.

Rubio, who will chair the executive committee of the Board alongside Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, emphasized that the goal of the organization is to transform diplomacy into concrete results.

"Often, we see international forums where speeches are made and statements are read, but nothing happens. This is a group that will take action," he emphasized.

Trump, for his part, described the project as an alternative to the United Nations system and stated that it aims to "promote lasting peace and reliable governance in conflict-affected areas."

More than 50 countries received invitations to join the board, including Russia, Ukraine, Israel, Canada, Argentina, and Qatar, among others.

Some governments, such as those of France, Norway, and Sweden, refused to join the plan, prompting a stern reaction from the U.S. president, who threatened to impose a 200% tariff on French wine.

Others, like Hungary, Belarus, and Uzbekistan, accepted the invitation immediately.

During his speech, Rubio asserted that Trump's vision represents an opportunity to transform the international community's approach to conflicts.

"The world has been full of words, but lacking action. This meeting is about results, about achieving what seems impossible," he said.

The Peace Board was authorized by the United Nations Security Council as a transitional entity to coordinate the reconstruction of Gaza, although its founding charter, obtained through Israeli channels, expands its goals to include the promotion of stability and the strengthening of government in crisis areas.

Rubio concluded his speech by thanking the countries that joined the project and assured that more governments would join in the coming weeks.

"Many want to be part of this effort because it will be a successful one," he stated.
