Solidarity once again prevailed on social media.

The campaign to help Osmar González, the Cuban who went viral for delivering Amazon packages with one leg, has raised over $36,000, a crucial step towards accessing a modern prosthesis that will improve his mobility and quality of life.

The update was provided by journalist Javier Díaz from Univisión, who has closely followed the case and kept it visible to thousands of people.

In a video posted on Facebook, he expressed gratitude for the collective support and confirmed that the process is already underway.

"With the help of all of you and through social media, we managed to raise over $36,000. Thank you very much, everyone, for this truly meaningful action," he expressed.

Díaz revealed that Osmar is already in the process of obtaining a prosthesis suitable for his condition. The goal now is not just to acquire a device, but one that truly allows him to work without pain and with greater stability.

"It is already in the process of securing his prosthesis. One that, of course, will meet his needs," said the journalist, who also committed to continue reporting on the evolution of the case.

For his part, Osmar also spoke in that same video, and he did so visibly moved.

He reported that after attending his first medical appointment related to the process, he received a key piece of news: they will no longer repair his old prosthesis, but instead, they will provide him with a completely new one that will allow him to walk and work more securely, including going up and down stairs.

"Thanks to your help, I am going to get a new prosthesis. Not only that, but I will have three sections of prosthesis until I find the one that fits," he explained.

The 37-year-old Cuban delivery driver did not hide his gratitude towards those who made this progress possible and also promised to document the entire process for those who have followed his story from the beginning.

His story moved thousands of people, not just because it's about a fundraiser, but because it reflects a man who, despite losing a leg at the age of three due to an accident in Cuba, has never stopped fighting.

His journey to the United States years ago included nothing less than crossing the Rio Bravo, relying solely on crutches.

Today he lives in Tampa, where he has a dual job: ironing at a dry cleaner in the mornings and delivering Amazon packages in the afternoons, going up and down stairs with -so far- an old and limited prosthesis.

The viral spread of videos from security cameras showing him carrying heavy boxes sparked a wave of support under the slogan #FuerzaOsmar, turning his case into a symbol of perseverance within the Cuban and Latino community.

Today, with over $36,000 raised and the medical process already underway, Osmar is closer to fulfilling a simple yet profound dream: to walk better, work without pain, and live with greater peace of mind.
