A Cuban resident in the United States reported on social media what she believes to be a scam after making a purchase on Amazon worth $2,300 and receiving, instead of the purchased furniture, a completely different and damaged item.
The case was presented in a video posted on TikTok by the user @zuny_sanchez, in which she visibly expressed her distress about what happened. She explained that she had purchased a table that she loved on October 9, knowing that the shipping would take several weeks. The estimated delivery date was the end of November or the beginning of December, so she decided to wait without making any complaints.
"I was so excited to go look for my table, and I find this after having waited more than two months for it to arrive," she wrote in the video description.
However, upon receiving the package, the surprise was immense. Instead of the table, the woman claims she received a rusty, damaged object that bears no relation to the product she purchased. In the video, she shows the receipt of the purchase and compares what is listed in the order with what ultimately arrived at her home.
"Gentlemen, can you believe that for 2,300 dollars what they sent me was this?" she questions indignantly, showing the contents of the package. She also points out inconsistencies in the packaging, asserting that the box received does not match the dimensions that the purchased furniture should have.
The user explained that she has already contacted Amazon's technical support, and the platform indicated that she should reach out directly to the seller. She reports that the seller requested photographs of the received product as part of the claims process. However, the situation is complicated because, apparently, the deadline for making a return had already passed when she detected the problem.
“This is the worst thing that has happened to me while shopping on Amazon. I’ve been buying from there my whole life and I had never experienced anything like this,” she stated.
Visibly upset and disappointed, the woman sought help and advice from her followers, asking if anyone had gone through a similar situation and if they were able to recover their money. “Tell me if something like this has happened to you with Amazon,” she expressed.
The video has generated numerous reactions on social media, where users are sharing similar experiences, advising to persist with Amazon support, and alerting others to the importance of carefully reviewing external sellers on the platform.
So far, the affected party has not confirmed whether they were able to recover the money or if Amazon resolved their claim favorably.
