Images of a long line at the service station on Zapata and 2, in Havana, for purchasing fuel on Friday went viral on social media.

“THIS IS HOW THE LINES IN CUBA ARE TO GET FUEL, IF YOU'RE LUCKY. Images that reach us directly from Havana at Zapata and 4 to fill up with gasoline in dollars. Meanwhile, the regime says everything is normal because they have ‘normalized’ misery,” reported on Facebook by Daniel Benítez.

The images show a line of parked cars stretching from block to block.

The journalist Mario J. Pentón also shared a video showcasing the seemingly endless line.

The lines to buy fuel in dollars multiplied again on Friday in Havana and other provinces of Cuba, despite the state-owned CUPET recently denying rumors about a supposed suspension of supply.

In several videos shared on social media, long lines of cars can be seen waiting for hours in front of service stations, especially in the capital.

Cubanet showed recent images of the lines to purchase fuel in eastern cities, such as Holguín, where the wait can exceed long hours.

The increase in queues occurs as distribution issues persist and there is a lack of transparency regarding actual reserve levels.

CUPET assures that the supply continues normally, but numerous drivers report a shortage of gasoline even at the sales points that operate in foreign currency, where a liter is paid for in US dollars or euros.

The situation is causing discomfort and an informal resale of fuel at increasingly higher prices.

The state-owned company insists that reports of a complete shutdown are false, but the noticeable increase in queues contradicts the official narrative.

On social media, many users are questioning the credibility of the denial and point out that, while the government is denying the crisis, the reality on the streets tells a different story.
