The United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, praised this Monday the military operation that resulted in the capture of the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, calling it “the most sophisticated incursion in the history of the planet” and highlighting the decisive role of President Donald Trump.

“Remember when Nicolás Maduro mocked us and said: ‘Here I am, come for me.’ Well, he found out the consequences,” Hegseth stated during his visit to Cape Canaveral, Florida, as part of his “Arsenal of Freedom” tour.

The official emphasized that "no other president before Trump would have had the courage to make that call," highlighting the U.S. president's leadership in the military operation that ended the Chavista regime in Venezuela.

According to WCHS-TV 8, during his tour of the NASA and Blue Origin facilities, Hegseth spoke with entrepreneur Jeff Bezos about advancements in space defense and the role of the private sector in the country's military strategy.

"It doesn't matter what name is printed on the side of the rocket; we only want the best," he said, referring to the cooperation between the technology sector and the Armed Forces.

The secretary also defended the policy of "deterrence through force" promoted by the Pentagon, stating that the energy and military dominance fostered by Trump "generates peace abroad and prosperity at home."

Trump shared a video on social media in January where he recalled the challenge that Nicolás Maduro posed to him weeks earlier.

"Come for me. I'm waiting for you here in Miraflores. Don't take too long to arrive, coward," Maduro is heard saying in an edited video responding to Marco Rubio's statement: "If you didn't know, now you do."
