A Cuban resident in Mexico went viral on TikTok as she explained the reasons that led her to leave the United States after living there for four years.

In the video posted by the user @cubanita.en.mexic, the young woman answers a common question from her followers: why she decided to leave the North American country, which many consider "the land of opportunity."

“Friend, why did you leave the United States, if there’s a better life there?” the Cuban reads at the beginning of the video. Her response has resonated with thousands of users:

"It is true that life is better in the United States, in the sense that the dollar is worth something everywhere, but, my love, you have to earn it, you have to fight for it and give it your all, just like in all countries."

The young woman explained that, although she had material comforts, she felt empty

"I spent four years in the United States away from my family. I had all the comforts I could ask for, and, my love, it was as if I didn't have any of that because I wasn't enjoying it. I worked a lot and wasn't with my children."

With a reflective tone, he affirmed that his decision was not economic, but emotional:

“Materials are not everything. Even if it's under a bridge, I prefer to be with my daughters, because life is only one. Today we are here, tomorrow maybe not, and we can’t take anything with us, only what we lived and how happy we felt.”

Her testimony has generated hundreds of supportive comments from other Cubans who, like her, have emigrated in search of a better life and have discovered that emotional well-being outweighs material success.

"My best life is being with my daughters, no matter where," concluded the Cuban, leaving a message that has resonated with many migrants.
