The Cuban authorities announced that restrictions will be implemented on fuel sales due to “insufficient fuel” to maintain the levels of commercialization that had been recorded in previous weeks.

The measure was reported by Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, as part of the package of decisions adopted in the context of the energy crisis and the official call for conservation.

According to the explanation provided, the reduction is directly related to current availability: “due to insufficient fuel, we cannot maintain the sales levels we had been experiencing,” the message states.

As a result, restrictions will be implemented on fuel purchases.

The announcement itself clarifies that the limitations will be temporary and that, "as the situation is restored," deliveries will resume "at usual levels."

However, the message does not specify dates, volumes, or the exact scope of the restrictions.

The reference to the reduction in sales appears within a broader communication about energy savings, which includes the decision to concentrate essential administrative activities from Monday to Thursday to reduce consumption during the weekend, with the argument of improving the system's availability to address other needs of the population.

During the same period, the regime announced that it will concentrate essential administrative activities from Monday to Thursday as part of the measures to reduce energy consumption amidst the energy crisis.

According to the message, the measure implies that administrative activities will be concentrated from Monday to Thursday, and that during the weekend, the operation of these tasks will be reduced in order to shut them down and thus lower energy consumption.
