The President of the United States, Donald Trump, will meet next Friday with the members of the special forces who participated in the operation that concluded with the capture of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela.

The announcement was made this Tuesday by White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, who reported that Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will travel to Fort Bragg in North Carolina to also meet with military families.

According to Leavitt, the meeting is dedicated to recognizing the agents who participated in Operation Absolute Resolution, an action he described as successful and which allowed for bringing to justice what he termed the narco-terrorist Nicolás Maduro.

Fort Bragg is one of the main bases of the U.S. Army and the home of elite special forces units, which underscores the symbolic and political significance of the meeting announced by the White House.

The visit comes weeks after the military operation ordered by Trump that ended Maduro's real power in Venezuela and initiated a transition process under U.S. supervision, amid significant international pressure against Chavismo.
