A Cuban resident in Miami has touched the hearts of thousands on social media by raising a flag in his yard that symbolizes his hope for the freedom of Cuba. The video, posted on TikTok by the account @pescaenmiami, captures the moment he raises a banner that merges the colors of Cuba and the United States, with a raised fist as an emblem of resistance.

The flag combines the lone star and the Cuban tricolor design with elements of the United States flag, in a composition that reflects the connection between the exile and the island. In the center, the clenched fist reinforces the message of resistance, determination, and the longing for change.

While adjusting the fabric to the mast and letting it flutter under the blue sky of South Florida, the song “Patria y Vida” plays in the background, having become an anthem for those calling for political change in Cuba. The creator of the video accompanied the post with a phrase loaded with symbolism: “A new dawn is about to arrive #patriayvida #Cuba”.

The scene triggered an avalanche of reactions. Hundreds of users shared messages such as "Freedom for Cuba," "Cuba will be free," "It won't be long now," and "Change is coming." Others wrote, "Soon we will see our flag waving in a free Cuba" and "We do not lose faith", accompanying their words with Cuban flags, raised fists, and prayer emojis. The prevailing sentiment is one of hope and conviction that the island can enter a new phase.

Some internet users even asked where they could get a similar flag to replicate the gesture. In the comments, the creator responded that it can be found on Amazon, which generated interest among those who wish to publicly express their stance.

The video reflects how, from exile, many Cubans continue to use symbols, music, and social media to keep the aspiration for freedom alive and express their confidence that, as the author wrote, "a new dawn" is on the horizon for Cuba.
