The sixth season of La Casa de los Famosos has already begun, and among the 21 confirmed residents, there is a name that directly connects with the Cuban audience: Eduardo Antonio.
The singer, known as the "Divo of Placetas," officially entered the Telemundo reality show, making it clear that he doesn't intend to dilute his personality within the house. Before entering, he summed it up in a phrase that is already circulating on social media: "Better dead than without style."
Staying true to his glamorous and straightforward image, Eduardo asserted that his essence is non-negotiable. He promised to remain impeccable 24 hours a day and made another statement that emphasizes his stance in the game: "I compete with mediocrity. Fear has never accompanied me; daring has."
But before crossing the door of confinement, the artist also wanted to send a political message that did not go unnoticed. In reference to the situation on the island, he expressed: “I want to ask that if I am at home and the dictatorship in Cuba falls, please let me know so all Cubans can celebrate with me too.”
Her words were met with support from followers both inside and outside of Cuba, especially at a time of intense international pressure on the regime.
The Cuban presence is felt once again in this edition of the program, which also includes other figures connected to the island, both those born in Cuba and those of Cuban heritage.
Now, beyond the spotlight and controversies, everyone is competing for a prize that could be worth millions. Last season, the winner took home $200,000, while the second and third places received $100,000 and $50,000, respectively.
The question now is whether the “Divo de Placetas” will be able to transform his style, experience, and confidence into a strategy that brings him closer to the final briefcase.
