A Cuban mother stars in an emotional video that has gone viral on TikTok after showcasing her reaction to entering a supermarket in Mexico for the first time.
In the images, the woman wanders through the appliance section in amazement and can't contain her excitement at the wide range of refrigerators and equipment available.
"This is unique, it's like a new birth. Honestly, I feel… I have a lump in my throat from so much emotion," she expressed, visibly moved.
As she looks at the different models, sizes, and designs, she comments in surprise, "These are refrigerators... and then at the bottom, why does it open like that, as if it were an oven? Oh my God, what a marvel!"
The Cuban also reflected on the shortcomings experienced on the island: “How many things we lost in life.” At another moment, while contemplating the capabilities of the teams, she honestly added: “Someday one like that… but to reach that level I have to catch my breath.”
The video has generated numerous reactions on social media, where many Cubans identify with the scene and recall the impact of facing well-stocked markets for the first time after having lived through years of scarcity.
The scene not only reflects the individual emotion of a mother but also the contrast between two economic realities that define the experience of thousands of Cuban emigrants as they leave the country in search of better opportunities.
