The Cuban receiver Edgar Quero delivered an outstanding performance this Saturday in Spring Training with the Chicago White Sox, showing clear signs of his progress and the impact he can have on the organization.
According to information from journalist Francys Romero on his social media, Quero had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3, including a double, and drove in four runs, playing a key role in his team's offensive production.
But his performance was not limited to the attack.
Behind the plate, he also showcased high-level defensive skills. The Cuban catcher caught a runner attempting to steal second base with a powerful throw in 1.85 seconds, confirming the strength and accuracy of his arm.
Additionally, he showcased his game intelligence by challenging a pitch that was called a ball, which, after review in the automated ball and strike system (ABS), was overturned to a strike, demonstrating confidence in his pitch reading.
The young catcher continues to establish himself as one of the most promising assets within the White Sox system, combining contact, occasional power, and solid defensive skills.
If he maintains this pace, everything indicates that 2026 could be a bright year for Edgar Quero, who continues to take firm steps on his journey toward establishing himself definitively in the Major Leagues.
